How to Accommodate Your Keller Movers

Olde World Movers explains how to accomodate for Keller movers. Hiring movers is a wise move. They help with the logistics and heavy lifting of your move, not to mention the safe transport of your items. They bring lots of experience and muscle to ensure your belongings are handled with care and precision. Plus, you get peace of mind knowing they can handle the more challenging aspects of your move. As a result, you get assurances of a smooth relocation that may not happen if you were to handle the move yourself.

However, it’s important to treat your movers well and be prepared for when they arrive to perform your residential move. Getting along with, and preparing for, your Keller movers, is key in cementing a problem-free experience for all.

1.  Be Prepared

Just as you would prepare for a doctor’s visit or a meeting with a new client, you will also want to be prepared to meet your movers. If you hired them for packing in addition to moving, make their job easier by purging, sorting and organizing before they get there. You don’t want them to walk into a house that’s cluttered.

Be clear about what you need to pack, and throw things out or donate things you no longer need in the days before they arrive. Have everything sorted and ready to go. If you don’t need them for packing, your movers will arrive on moving day assuming all your belongings will already be organized into labeled boxes that are ready to be picked up and placed on the truck.

2.  Make Yourself Available

It’s important to be punctual. After all, you expect the same from them. Delays happen on your part. Whether you’re late getting back from work or an appointment, give your movers a call and let them know when you’ll be there. Making them wait around for an hour only delays your move and the moves after yours later that day.

If it becomes impossible to meet them at your home at the scheduled time, ask a family member or friend to head over and oversee things. Tell your mover the name and contact information of the person you choose to be in charge.

3.  Welcome the Movers

Welcome your movers to your home when they arrive and offer them a cold drink such as water, or even a light snack. Put these things in an accessible place so they can grab them when they need them.

Give them a tour of your house so they know the lay of the land. Point out what needs to be done along with any details, advice, directions or shortcuts.

4.  Make Sure They Know Where to Park

Sounds like a simple detail yet can result in chaos if overlooked. The driver may call you ahead of time to find out where they should park, particularly if they know they’re headed to an inner-city street that may be congested or be a one-way. Make sure the movers have a large enough spot to park their trucks and remove their equipment. If you don’t have a personal driveway, make sure you secure a parking pass to allow for on-street parking or get permission from the other home owners if you have a shared driveway, says Moving.com.

5.  Give Them the Essentials

If you want your movers to feel comfortable while they work, inform them of their surroundings and what is available to them. Let them know which bathroom to use should they need it (stock it with lots of soap and paper towels) and where the cooler is with the cold water or iced tea.

If it’s a chilly morning, make sure to brew a pot of coffee and leave it on the counter with disposable cups. If it’s a hot day, run the AC while your movers are hard at work. If the move is during lunchtime, ask if they would like some pizza and then make the necessary arrangements.

You don’t have to do any of this, but the little things make a big difference and will be much appreciated by your movers.
